AS1119 144 LED Full Color Cross-Plexing Driver

ams’ AS1119 is a compact LED driver for 144 (90) single LEDs. The devices can be programmed via an I2C compatible interface. This LED driver offers two blocks driving each 72 LEDs (three blocks each 30 LEDs) with 1/9 (1/6) cycle rate. The required lines to drive all 144 (90) LEDs are reduced to 18 by using the cross-plexing feature optimizing space on the PCB. Every block driving 72 (30) LEDs can be analog dimmed from 1 mA to 30 mA in 256 steps (8-bit). With a 2.7 V ~ 5.5 V supply, the AS1119 provides an 8-bit PWM per LED and an 8-bit analog current adjustment on each matrix for up to 5 mA per LED. This driver has a temperature range of -40°C ~ +85°C and comes in a 36-WLCSP package. The AS1119 was designed for wearable fitness, smart phones, home appliances, and keyboard backlights.
