The solderless compression-mounted 2.92 mm coaxial connector from Hirose is ideal for applications in lab equipment, test equipment, characterization boards, and high-speed back planes for data/computing and network analyzers. The HK series meets the MIL-STD-348B Standard and supports up to 40 GHz.
Featuring a solderless compression screw mount design, the high-bandwidth HK series coaxial connector simplifies the assembly process and provides several electrical and mechanical advantages over soldered versions. Using traditional soldered through-hole design, signal reflection is created by the stub protruding through the board. However, the HK compression-mounted connector has a center contact mounted flush with the PCB, eliminating the stub, reducing signal reflection. The HK series also optimizes design flexibility as it can be used with PCB boards of various thicknesses (1.6 mm minimum). In addition, the connector is reusable and can be attached and removed to boards for multiple uses, saving time and costs.
