EK2100 Evaluation Kit

The Synapse Wireless EK2100-220 evaluation kit is an easy-to-use introduction to the power of the SNAP® Thing Platform. Ready to go straight out of the box, it includes all the tools and tutorials necessary to start exploring the capabilities of the SNAP Thing platform and the Synapse RF220 family of RF modules. The kit comes with pre-programmed RF220UF1 modules to show the capability of a SNAP node to autonomously network and then sense and respond to events. The first demonstration starts without any need for a PC or programming. From there, each tutorial expands upon the last to provide a fun and educational tour of SNAP and the portal integrated development environment (IDE). Users will explore RF interactions and the power of embedded SNAPpy scripting (the Synapse python-based scripting language) through interactions with real sensors and actuators.

In less than one hour of exploring, a user will demonstrate and master several ways to leverage SNAP to quickly and easily add wireless connectivity and sensor data to new and existing designs.

This kit is designed for anyone interested in an introduction to the SM220 and RF220 series RF modules and the possibilities of the SNAP Thing platform. Hardware and software engineers, corporate technology evaluators, along with educators and students can learn more about the SNAP technology and SNAP-based modules through the hands-on examples in this kit.

The EK2100-220 is also a great place to start if  the ultimate goal is to utilize other SNAP modules rather than the included RF220UF1. The same scripts and examples will readily apply to other Synapse module family members such as the SM220UF1, SM200P81, or RF220SU. Each is also fully compatible with Synapse Gateways (E20, E10, and E12), SNAP Thing services, and software tools such as SNAP Connect. For expanded evaluations, all RF200 and RF220 series modules can be used with the prototyping hardware included in the kit.
