ExpressPort™ SFP+ 1xN Cages

Amphenol ICC's ExpressPort SFP+ 1xN Cages expand Amphenol ICC's SFP series product offering to provide data transfer speeds of up to 10 Gbps when combined with the new ExpressPort SFP+ connector. Together, these products form a modular high speed I/O interconnect system providing a higher speed, inexpensive external I/O product, primarily for the networking, telecom and storage systems markets. ExpressPort SFP+ 1xN cages and connectors meet the SFF-8432 standard for single port cages, and SFF-8433 standard for 1xN (1x2, 1x4 and 1x6) port versions, and feature compliant press-fit pins (single port cages are also available with PCB mount solder tails). Applications for this product include network switches, routers, servers, and storage devices.

Material Requirements
  • Unless otherwise specified, the materials for each component shall be:
    • RoHS compliant on SFP connectors and cages
    • Cage: copper alloy, nickel plated; selected version available with matte tin over nickel
    • Light pipes are optical grade polycarbonate; brackets, stainless steel
    • Optional thermoplastic dust covers

Electrical Characteristics
  • Hot swappable
  • Allows module swapping
  • Operating voltage 3.3 V at 0.5 A (max.)
  • Cages include EMI grounding features such as spring fingers and elastomeric gaskets for superior EMI performance
  • Selected versions provide enhanced EMI shielding through the use of supplementary ground tabs
Mechanical Characteristics
  • Accepts multiple transceivers per INF-8074i and SFF-8431
  • Durability of 250 mating cycles
  • Maximum insertion force for an MSA compliant transceiver is 50 N
  • Connectors shall be of the design, construction and physical dimensions specified on the applicable product drawings
