The SMA6L Series, an addition to the Littelfuse SMA family of TVS diodes, is designed specifically to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient voltage events. The SMA6L series can handle the same level of power as a standard Littelfuse SMB series TVS diode (600 W) when operated within its peak pulse power rating. The low-profile SMA package provides the same surge capability as the industrial standard SMB but with the lowest height profile (1.1 mm vs. 2 mm) available in the industry. This small form factor makes the SMA6L series TVS diode ideal for use in applications such as ultra-slim notebook computers, hard disk drives, telecom equipment, battery chargers, industrial equipment and switch mode power supplies.
