The Torex XC6216 series is a positive voltage regulator IC with a 28 V operating voltage. The series consists of a voltage reference, an error amplifier, a current limiter, a thermal shutdown circuit, a phase compensation circuit, and a driver transistor. The XC6216D output voltage is fixed and selectable in 0.1 V increments within the range of 2.0 V to 12 V using laser trimming technologies. The XC6216C output voltage range can be expanded from 2.0 V to 23 V with external resistors. The output stabilization capacitor (CL) is also compatible with low ESR ceramic capacitors. The over-current protection circuit and the thermal shutdown circuit are built-in. These two protection circuits will operate when the output current reaches current limit level or the junction temperature reaches temperature limit level. The XC6216C CE function enables the output to be turned off and the IC becomes a stand-by mode resulting in greatly reduced power consumption.
