Wurth Electronics released the market's first non-standard-shielded SMD inductor, which is tested and rated up to 400 V_DC. The WE-PD HV is available in three sizes, 7 mm x 7 mm, 10 mm x 10 mm and 12 mm x 12 mm. With a wide range of inductance values within the sizes, there is a fit for nearly all circuits (220 µH - 3300 µH). The PD HV is a cost-effective and small solution as an input filter in AC/DC switch-mode power supplies. The products find their usage in the LED lighting market for un-isolated, step-down designs in LED light bulbs. In addition, Wurth Electronics already offers 400 V high-voltage inductors as unshielded SMD and THT configurations.
