Vishay Siliconix has developed a new way to shrink the size of a synchronous buck regulator while at the same time providing efficiencies as high as 93%. The microBUCK family gives you a cost-effective buck-converter solution by leveraging Vishay’s unique capability in discrete MOSFETs, power IC design, and packaging. The microBUCK combines an advanced controller IC with gate drivers, 2 PWM optimized N-Channel MOSFETs, and a bootstrap diode. Giving you all active components on a buck regulator in a single package that needs much less board space than discrete solutions, and less board space for power conversion, means you have more space for critical system functions.
