By XP Power 213
XP Power announces two new families to their line-up of ultra-compact, metal-cased, 15 W DC-DC converters. Available in an industry-standard 24-pin DIP measuring just 31.75 x 20.32 x 10.16 mm (1.25 x 0.8 x 0.4 inches), the JCG15 and JTF15 series offer a power density of up to 37.5 W per cubic inch with an efficiency of up to 91%. Their compact size conserves board space, and the highly efficient design results in less wasted heat, assisting in the thermal management of the end system.
Providing the popular nominal inputs of 12, 24, or 48 VDC, the JCG15 series accommodates wide 2:1 input ranges of 9 VDC to 18 VDC, 18 VDC to 36 VDC and 36 VDC to 75 VDC, with the JTF15 accepting ultra wide 4:1 inputs of 9 VDC to 36 VDC and 18 VDC to 75 VDC. Both single- and dual-output models are available. Single-outputs are 3.3, 5.1, 12, or 15 and duals are ±5, ±12, or ±15 .
The converters have an input to output and input/output to case isolation of 1,600. A remote on/off signal control is standard across the range and can be used to control the output rails or to sequence start-up procedures. All units feature overvoltage and continuous short-circuit protection.
These highly efficient DC-DC converters operate from -40°C to 100°C for the JCG series and 105°C for the JTF series.
The JTF and JCG series suit a wide-variety of mobile, portable, and wireless applications.
