The FX18 series from Hirose is a high-speed transmission board-to-board connector system. It is available in coplanar, vertical, and parallel mating styles. Mated heights for the parallel style are available in 15 mm, 20 mm, 25 mm, and 30 mm heights. The multi-functional (MF) contact can be designated as:

1. Ground contact to enhance grounding;
2. Power supply contact up to 12 A to reduce required pin counts;
3. 3-stop sequential contacts for ground and detection.

Effective mating length of signal contact is 2.0 mm. This series features a large mating guide for easy mating. The insertion lost-to-crosstalk ratio with five-aggressor differential FEXT meets the extrapolated IEEE802.3ap specification for 10+ Gbps with plenty of margin. The differential impedance is within 100±10 Ω at 35 ps rise time (20% to 80%).
