1 MBd and 10 MBd VOW Widebody Optocoupler Family w

Designed by Vishay Semiconductor Opto Division to increase reliability in high-voltage applications such as alternative energy and industrial systems, the devices provide a VIOTM of 8000 V, a VIORM of 1414 V, and an external creepage distance greater than 10 mm. This extreme isolation makes them ideal for applications operating at higher working voltages and/or with higher pollution degree criteria. The new VOW widebody high-isolation, high-speed optocoupler family offers designers the choice of SMD and through-hole options, as well as outstanding noise decoupling, as seen from their high CMR specification.

Vishay’s Widebody VOW135 and VOW136 (1 MBd) and VOW137 and VOW2211 (10 MBd) high-speed optocouplers provide designers with high isolation voltage safety ratings as well as extreme creepage and clearance isolation distances. Not only do these Widebody VOW components meet domestic and international safety agency requirements such as smart metering (CAT IV), they also help to reduce the electrical noise commonly found in industrial high-power switching applications, such as AC variable speed motor drives, solar inverters, and welding equipment. The noise isolation capabilities of these devices are well demonstrated by their typical high common-mode noise rejection values.

Combining time-proven opto-isolation technology with state-of-the-art 1 MBd and 10 MBd data transmission rates, the Widebody VOW family features flexible open collector output configurations that give designers the freedom to choose whichever load resistor values best fit the requirements of their applications.
