A1332 High Resolution Programmable Angle Sensor wi

Allegro's A1332 is a 360° contactless, high resolution magnetic angle position sensor based on circular vertical hall (CVH) technology. It is a system-on-a-chip that includes a CVH front end, programmable digital signal processing, an I2C interface, and a fast refresh rate of 32 µs. With its extensive digital signal processing and linearization functions it is ideal for side-shaft (ring magnet) applications. It can also be used for end-of-shaft (puck magnet) for even better error accuracy performance. The A1332, in particular, is ideal for EPS hand wheel position angle measurements or motor applications that require fast output refresh rates.

  • Digital signal processing functions also include temperature compensation and gain/offset trim to help provide an extremely accurate and linear output
  • The A1332 provides a very fast refresh rate (32 µsecs) compared to most completive angle sensors. Fast refresh rates are critical for high bandwidth applications such as in motor position monitoring
  • The A1332 supports I2C, a bi-directional digital interface. Competitive solutions offer a 3 or 4 wire SPI interface or a slow single wire / one-way communication SENT interface
  • Due to the A1332’s ability to support a larger target magnetic field it is more immune to stray and parasitic magnetic fields
  • The A1332 supports binary and fine scaling, along with clamps, for angle measurement applications less than 360°
  • The A1332 also includes on-chip EEPROM technology capable of supporting up to 100 read/write cycles, for flexible factory and field trim calibration programming
  • The A1332 is offered in a thin TSSOP-14 package, where competitors offer their competitive single die solutions in a thick TSSOP-08 package. EPS applications commonly require very thin surface-mount packages like the TSSOP
  • The A1332 does not require, or have integrated into it, a magnetic flux concentrator. Competitive solutions that do require stricter placement and centering of the magnet over the angle sensor to prevent high angle error
