The PortServer TS 16 is a product Digi International has been manufacturing for over 15 years. The ConnectPort TS 16 is a newer product which is similar in core functionality, but which offers enhanced performance, better security, better manageability, customization options, and additional features important in the modern device connectivity environment.

The ConnectPort TS 16 serial server provides secure, easy EIA 232 or EIA 232/422/485 serial-to-Ethernet integration of virtually any device into wired Ethernet networks. The ConnectPort TS 16 MEI is ideal for use in a wide variety of demanding applications such as automation, robotics control, centralized device monitoring and management, data acquisition, and point-of-sale applications requiring COM/TTY ports, serial tunneling or TCP/UDP functionality.

The ConnectPort TS uses the same driver and offers the same pinout as existing PortServer TS products; therefore most existing applications are drop-in replacement.
