Epson introduces the RX8900 real time clock module (RTC). Using digital temperature compensated oscillator (DT CXO) technology, the RX8900 achieves ±3.4 or ±5 ppm accuracy over a range of -40 to +85 °C. The RX8900 has very low power – 0.7 µA typical – and offers an automatic standby function which detects loss of main power and switches to a backup battery or super capacitor. The RX8900 CE has a 3.2 mm x 2.5 mm x 1.0 mm ceramic package, includes a built-in crystal, and is surface mountable.
