SPV1050 Energy Harvester and Battery Charger

The STMicroelectronics SPV1050 is an ultra-low-power energy harvester with integrated battery charger that helps designers achieve high efficiency and small form factor critical for a remote sensing node. The full-bridge DC-DC converter, configurable either in a boost or buck-boost topology for a wide input voltage range to fit both photovoltaic (PV) cells or thermal energy generators (TEG), is controlled by a maximum power point tracking algorithm (MPPT) that can boost the energy harvested by 60%. The SPV1050 is available in a 5 x 5 mm, 20-lead QFN package and in die form.
