Texas Instruments' ISO7830/31/10/10F are high-performance, single- and triple-channel digital isolators with an 8000 VPK isolation voltage. These devices have reinforced isolation certifications according to VDE, CSA, and CQC. The isolators provide high electromagnetic immunity and low emissions at low-power consumption, while isolating CMOS or LVCMOS digital I/Os. Each isolation channel has a logic input and output buffer separated by silicon dioxide (SiO2) insulation barrier.
The ISO7830 and ISO7831 come with enable pins which can be used to put the respective outputs in high impedance for multi-master driving applications and to reduce power consumption. The ISO7830 has three forward, the ISO7831 has two forward, and both have no reverse-direction channels.
If the input power or signal is lost, default output is ‘high’ for the ISO7830/31/10 and 'low' for the ISO7830F/31F/10F device. Used in conjunction with isolated power supplies, this device prevents noise currents on a data bus or other circuits from entering the local ground and interfering with or damaging sensitive circuitry. Through innovative chip design and layout techniques, electromagnetic compatibility of ISO7830/31/10/10F have been significantly enhanced to ease system-level ESD, EFT, surge and emissions compliance. The ISO7830/31/10/10F are available in 16-pin SOIC wide-body (DW) package.
