Abracon's ACAJ-110 is a passive dielectric dual band ISM antenna for PCB surface mounting. This antenna covers the 868 MHz and 915 MHz ISM bands. The antenna is compact ceramic helical antenna design being only 9.0 mm x 3.0 mm x 1.2 mm, and needs only a 15.0 mm x 7.6 mm no-ground area on the PCB. Peak gain varies with band from -2.5 dBi to -2.7 dBi and efficiency of 34%. The antenna is particularly suited to high-density PCB designs where space is at a premium; this antenna offers excellent performance and is competitive against external whip or flexible film antenna solutions. The key selling features of this antenna are its compact size, and dual band capability. Covering both the commonly used 868 MHz and 915 MHz ISM bands, designers have the flexibility to have a common antenna for both geographical areas. This ISM antenna will find applications for low power data transfer when combined with sub-1 GHz transceivers.
