NXP expands the i.MX 6 series of processors for the next era of high-end Internet of Things devices with the i.MX 6DualPlus and i.MX 6QuadPlus applications processors. The i.MX 6DualPlus and i.MX 6QuadPlus devices deliver dramatic graphics and memory performance enhancements suitable for applications such as infotainment, cluster, rear-seat entertainment, digital signage, vision systems, surveillance, and advanced HMI applications. The i.MX 6DualPlus and i.MX 6QuadPlus devices are pin-compatible with a broad range of i.MX 6 processors. Both devices work seamlessly with NXP’s advanced power management ICs, the MMPF0100F9, to lower power consumption.

The.i.MX 6QuadPlus and i.MX 6DualPlus family encompass a quad or dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 platform running up to 1.2 GHz with 1 MB of L2 cache, advanced graphics, pre-fetch and resolve engine, and optimized 64-bit DDR3 or 2-ch., 32-bit LPDDR2 support. Integrated FlexCAN, MLB busses, PCI Express®, and SATA-2 provide excellent connectivity, while integration of LVDS, MIPI display port, MIPI camera port, and HDMI v1.4 makes it an ideal multicore platform for leading-edge consumer, automotive, and industrial multimedia applications, which require higher graphics performance.
