DKIH Series Nanocrystalline Chokes

SCHURTER expands its wide range of current compensated chokes with high current types for PCB mounting. The DKIH series is available with a nanocrystalline ring core, offering 8x higher inductance performance than ferrite core versions in the same compact dimension. The choke family is designed for single- and three-phase applications with rated currents from 10 amperes to 50 amperes. Due to its open design, the chokes are lightweight and compact, ideally designed to suppress EMI noise caused by power applications on the PCB.

Like all other aspects of electronic design, the power portion is oftentimes built today using discrete components on printed circuit boards. With the trending integration of components to achieve smaller and smaller form factors, thermal problems and high currents on the PCB can become a challenge. Traditional block filters might well address these challenges, but their larger package size also presents challenges due to the mentioned space constraints; therefore, an asymmetrical effective common mode choke and capacitors mounted on the PCB are a better solution.

DKIH-1
The DKIH-1 series is designed for 1-phase AC or DC applications at a rated current of 10 A to 50 A. The components are designed and approved according to the standards IEC 60938, UL 1283, and CSA 22.2 no. 8. The rated voltages are 300 VAC (IEC, UL), 250 VAC (CSA), and 425 VDC for all variants.

DKIH-3
The DKIH-3 series is suitable for 3-phase applications with a rated current of 10 A to 50 A. The current compensated chokes comply with the standard IEC 60938. With a rated voltage of 600 VAC they are suitable for most applications.

DKIH-4
The new DKIH-4 series is suitable for 3-phase applications with neutral at nominal currents from 10 A to 40 A. The current compensated chokes comply with the IEC 60938 standard. With a rated voltage of 500 VAC or 760 VAC, they are suitable for almost any application.

Compact and light, these current-compensated chokes are easy to insert on the printed circuit board, and the contacting takes place by means of push-through contacts (THT). The chokes are designed for a wide temperature range from -40°C to +100°C.
