HV-HT Series, High-Temperature, 200°C MLCCs

KEMET Electronics offers high-voltage, high-temperature 200°C capacitors with EIA case sizes of 2824, 3040, 3640, and 4540, providing a maximum capacitance of 150 nF with voltages up to 2000 V.  These surface mountable C0G capacitors feature a 200°C maximum operating temperature and are specifically designed to withstand the demands of harsh industrial environments such as oil exploration and automotive or avionics engine compartment circuitry. In addition, with the growing trend of increased voltage, frequency, and temperature in wide band gap semiconductors (SiC, GaN) technology, KEMET’s patented, class-1, BME capacitors are ideal for realizing design goals such as maximum power density and efficiency.

The HV-HT series of surface-mount, C0G multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) are constructed of a robust and proprietary base metal electrode (BME) dielectric system that offers industry-leading performance at extreme temperatures. These surface-mountable devices feature a 200°C maximum operating temperature and are specifically designed to withstand the demands of harsh industrial environments such as oil exploration and automotive or avionics engine compartment circuitry.

These MLCCs are temperature compensating and are suited for resonant circuit applications or those where Q and stability of capacitance characteristics are required. They exhibit no change in capacitance, with respect to time and voltage, and boast a negligible change in capacitance with reference to ambient temperature. Capacitance change is limited to ±30 ppm/°C from -55°C to 200°C. In addition, these capacitors exhibit high insulation resistance with low dissipation factor at elevated temperatures up to 200°C. They also exhibit low ESR at high frequencies and offer superior volumetric efficiency over competitive high-temperature precious metal electrode (PME) and base metal electrode (BME) dielectric system devices. These devices are lead (Pb)-free, as well as RoHS- and REACH-compliant without the need of any exemptions.
