NTCS SMT Series of Enhanced-Stability, SMD Thermis

Vishay BC Components' NTCS SMT series of SMD thermistors deliver high sensitivity, high accuracy, and most importantly offer enhanced stability (ultra-low resistance drift throughout their operational life-time) over a wide temperature range. NTCS SMT thermistors are ideal for temperature sensing and compensation circuits in a variety of applications where long-term stability is required.

The NTCS SMT series of monolithic SMD thermistors offer enhanced stability for temperature sensing and compensation circuits. The enhanced stability of the NTCS SMT series correlates to an ultra-low ±0.5% maximum variation in its initial electrical resistance values at 25°C (R25) after 10,000 hours of operation over a wide temperature range of -40°C to 125°C. Most SMD NTCS thermistors with low initial electrical tolerances experience a change in their electrical properties after soldering directly impacting the accuracy of the temperature measurement. The NTCS SMT series features R25 values that are adapted to the resistivity of the thermistors' stable ceramic material, and ultimately preserves its original electrical properties throughout its life-time for increased accuracy. In addition, the high R25 values reduce self-heating effects that can cause false temperature readings. The NTCS SMT series has nickel barrier terminations with pure tin plating and is available in standard case sizes (0402, 0603, and 0805) on tape-and-reel packaging. The enhanced stability of the NTCS SMT series makes this product the perfect fit for applications requiring long-term stability and accuracy.
