Skyworks Solutions' SKY87000-13 dynamically controls the operating voltage of a multi-mode WCDMA or GSM / EDGE power amplifier (PA) solution. The SKY87000-13 outputs a voltage between 0.40 V and 4.25 V, giving optimum efficiency for all operating states. The output voltage of the device is controlled by an analog signal from the baseband processor. The SKY87000-13 can support up to 2 A of total load current with step-down and bypass regulators. The 2 MHz switching frequency is optimized for a typical 2.2 μH inductor and reduced output capacitance.
