Digi-Key is expanding its extensive 3M value added-assembly program with ready-to-install IDC assemblies constructed with the D89 socket series, a .100 in. pitch (2.54 mm) connector system, and the 3365 series' round conductor flat cable featuring polyvinyl chloride (PVC) insulation. Standard assemblies are available in 3 inches and 6 inches lengths and spans 10-, 14-, 16-, and 20-signal contacts. Single- and double-ended assemblies are available.

The D89 socket is a ribbon cable, wire-mount socket assembly with a 0.100 in. pitch, from 3M, which offers a robust and free-hanging connection solution with the following performance options:

• Bumps prevent premature latch locking during shipment
• Military polarization, with or without centerbump
• Optional double-sided adhesive pull tab for easy unplugging
• Double-recessed cover for cable terminating from either side, which virtually eliminates the need for single-recessed cover connectors

The 3365 series cable is a round conductor flat cable, from 3M, which is zippable for branching or discrete termination in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) insulation. The 28 AWG stranded wire, on 0.50 in. spacing, allows for mass termination, flexibility, and an extended product life. It is rated for 300 V and a temperature rating of -20°C to +105°C.
