SWFR Heat Shrink Tubing

TE Connectivity (TE) introduces its SWFR tubing. SWFR is a highly flame-retardant, 2:1 shrink ratio tubing. Constructed of irradiated, cross-linked polyolefin, it insulates and mechanically protects components, electrical connections, and terminations. SWFR promotes a X2 (thin wall tubing) and X4 (very thin wall tubing) product offering. The thicker wall of the X2 offers better protection, while the space-saving thinner wall of the X4 permits denser packing of protected components and a faster shrink time. Both types are halogen free, allowing use in enclosed spaces where toxic gasses from burning materials containing halogens is undesirable.

Features
  • Highly flame retardant, excellent for applications with increased focus on consumer safety
  • Environmentally friendly
  • Electrically insulates and mechanically protects components
  • Low shrink temperature, the X2 version shrinks quickly with the X4 able to shrink more than twice as fast as the X2
  • Sizes from 0.8 mm to 30 mm and two different wall thicknesses
  • Minimum shrink temperature: 70°C (158°F)
  • Full recovery temperature: 90°C (194°F)
  • Operating temperature: -30°C to 125°C (22°F to 257°F)
  • Highly flexible
Applications
  • Household appliances
  • Automotive
  • Commercial electronics and communications
  • Consumer products
  • Industrial equipment
  • Mass transit systems
  • Building equipment
