Maxim's MAX12931BAWE+ is a 2-channel, 5 kVRMS digital galvanic isolator using Maxim's proprietary process technology. The device transfers digital signals between circuits with different power domains while using as little as 0.65 mW per channel at 1 Mbps with 1.8 V. The two channels transfer data in opposite directions making the IC ideal for isolating the TX and RX lines of the transceiver.
MAX12931BAWE+ is available with a maximum data rate of 25 Mbps and offers a default output that is high. The default is the state the output assumes when the input is not powered, or if the input is open-circuit. Independent 1.71 V to 5.5 V supplies on each side of the isolator also make the devices suitable for use as level translators. The IC is rated for operation at ambient temperatures of -40°C to +125°C.
