The VersaSense IoT Fabric provides a simple, reliable, and affordable Industrial IoT solution for wireless sensing and control. The VersaSense wireless fabric consists of software, networking, and hardware elements that can be combined to securely deliver sensor data to IoT platforms or enterprise back-end systems. All VersaSense sensors and actuators are truly plug-and-play, making them easy to install and use.

The VersaSense Development Kit provides everything that is needed to learn about the VersaSense technology, create basic wireless sensing and control systems, and begin programming VersaSense applications. The VersaSense solution is designed for challenging environments such as factories, distribution facilities, and data centers. It uses SmartMesh IP from Linear Technology® to provide a self-healing mesh network that delivers 99.999% reliability. Each VersaSense Edge Gateway coordinates a network of up to 100 VersaSense Wireless Devices. Each wireless device acts as a repeater or ‘router’ with an approximate indoor range of 50 M. This allows a single mesh network to cover very large areas, such as entire factories, office buildings, ships, or trains.

The VersaSense Development Kit consists of the following items:

• 1x VersaSense Edge Gateway: manages up to 100 wireless devices, provides a web interface and open APIs over Ethernet and Wi-Fi
• 2x VersaSense Wireless Devices: form a reliable, low-power mesh network. Each device supports three plug-and-play sensors
• 4x plug-and-play sensors: light, temperature and humidity, passive infrared, buzzer actuator
• 1x commissioning peripheral for commissioning and updating nodes
