MikroElektronika’s MIKROE-1506 Joystick click board is a smart navigation key concept based on contactless, magnetic movement detection that features an AS5013 Hall IC from ams as well as an N50P105 miniature magnetic joystick module. Joystick click is an accessory board in mikroBUS™ form factor. It is a compact and easy solution for adding a joystick to a design. The AS5013 includes five integrated Hall sensing elements, which monitor the movement of the magnet incorporated into the joystick, and directly provides the X and Y coordinates via I2C output. An integrated mechanical push button is also built into the joystick. The board uses 3.3 V logic and power supply only. Joystick code examples can be found at Libstock.com.
ams’ AS5013 is a complete Hall sensor IC for smart navigation for the Internet of Things (IoT) world today. The on-chip processing engine allows for faster time-to-market by system designers. The sensor’s single-chip includes five integrated Hall sensing elements for detecting up to ±2 mm lateral displacement, high resolution ADC, XY coordinate, and motion detection engine combined with a smart power management controller. The AS5013 has an operational temperature range of -20°C to +80°C and it comes in 16-QFN package.
