Ohmite's ARF series follows the popular designs seen overseas and now making their way into the United States. These aluminum clad wirewound resistor designs are finding their way into popular applications traditionally reserved for tubular wirewound products. There are many advantages offered by these aluminum clad designed resistors. Mounting no longer requires the use of screws, washers, and brackets. The mounting holes are integrated into the aluminum body and can be mounted directly to the chassis of the application. This mounting style offers another advantage: heatsinking. When the ARF series is mounted to a heatsink or capable chassis, the ARF series has the ability to dissipate power up to 600 watts. The primary design of the ARF was centered around its low profile. The slim design opens up applications not typically suited for standard wirewounds or other aluminum clad resistors. The connectivity of the ARF series is also above traditional resistors. The ARF series is supplied with flying leads. These leads will allow the use of specialty connectors for quick connection and assembly.
