ADABOX003 is designed to introduce a person new to making to the joys of creating electronics and, specifically, to the world of the Internet of Things (IoT). Adafruit and Digi-Key have partnered together to create a fun pack of parts that:

• Introduces a beginner to making
• Does not require any additional tools or paid software
• Teaches electronics and programming skills
• Does not assume any prior experience
• Can be combined and adapted for months or years
• Introduces beginners to the growing world of IoT

Included in the AdaBox003 kit is Adafruit's Feather HUZZAH with ESP8266 Wi-Fi chip, pre-soldered with Feather Stacking Headers. This 'all-in-one' 80 MHz ESP8266 Wi-Fi development board with built-in USB and battery charging is programable using the Arduino IDE or NodeMCU Lua and operates at 3.3 V logic. The board carries 4MB of Flash and offers Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, with 9x GPIO, I²C, and SPI along with a 1.0 V maximum analog input. A CP2104 USB serial converter is also onboard with 921600 maximum baud rate.

Other major components included in the kit include Adafruit's 128 x 32 monochrome Featherwing OLED which includes 3 user buttons, a DHT22 temperature and capacitive humidity sensor, a micro servo that can rotate approximately 180 degrees, a PIR motion with a 2 second to 4 second adjustable delay and adjustable sensitivity, and a magnetic contact switch.

Adafruit has several example projects designed around this kit to educate users and get them started on an IoT application.
