With an available maximum operating current range from 1.5 A to 5.0 A and 1.75 A to 7.0 A, the Bourns MF-NSML and MF-USML series PTC resettable fuses can be used in a wide variety of protection circuits. These devices also feature initial resistance values as low as 1 mΩ and post trip resistances as low as 12 mΩ and 13.5 mΩ, both of which help boost the MF-NSML and MF-USML series current carrying capacity. With these fuses, Bourns can offer a 5 A Ihold device in a small 1206 package and 7 A Ihold device in a small 1210 package.
Using Bourns' freeXpansion™ design allows the compact MF-NSML and MF-USML devices to increase the resettable fuse overall performance resulting in improved resistance stability, higher hold currents, and higher voltage, all with smaller footprints. Some of the typical applications of the MF-NSML and MF-USML series resettable fuses include port protection for PC motherboards, gaming consoles, and USB memory modules along with smartphone battery protection.
