LT1763 500 mA Low Dropout (LDO) Regulators

LTC's LT1763 series of power management integrated circuits (PMIC) consume micropower, have low noise, and are low dropout regulators. The LT1763 series is capable of supplying 500 mA of output current with a dropout voltage of 300 mV. Designed for use in handheld and battery-powered systems, the low 30 μA quiescent current makes them an ideal choice. With the addition of an external 0.01 μF bypass capacitor, output noise drops to 20 μVRMS over a 10 Hz to 100 kHz bandwidth, making low output noise a key feature. The LT1763 regulators are stable with output capacitors as low as 3.3 μF. Internal protection circuitry includes reverse battery protection, current limiting, thermal limiting, and reverse current protection. The devices come in fixed output voltages of 1.5 V, 1.8 V, 2.5 V, 3 V, 3.3 V, and 5 V, and an adjustable device with a 1.22 V reference voltage. These regulators come in 8-pin SOIC/SO and 12-DFN packages. The LT1763 is ideal for cell phones/smartphones, battery-powered, and handheld applications.
