LT3048 Dual Step-Up/Boost Switching and LDO Regula

Linear Technology/Analog Devices’ LT3048 is dual step-up/boost switching regulator and low dropout (LDO) regulator. This device generates low noise, low ripple bias output from input voltages of 2.7 V to 4.8 V. The boost regulator provides power to the linear regulator, and its output voltage is regulated to 1.1 V above the LDO output, optimizing LDO ripple rejection and transient response. Fixed frequency operation and current mode control allow the use of very small inductors and results in low, predictable output ripple. The switching regulator puts out minimum of 300 mA of current at 4.4 V, 6.1 V, 13.1 V, 16.1 V, and 23.1 V. The linear regulator generates 45 mA of current with a programmable voltage up to 22 V or fixed voltages of 3.3 V, 5 V, 12 V, and 15 V. High power supply ripple rejection combined with a low noise internal reference results in less than 500 μVP-P output ripple and noise. The LT3048 is perfect for op amp power supplies and sensor biasing applications.
