WCAP-FTBP/FTBE Metallized Polypropylene and Metall

Wurth Electronics' WCAP-FTBP and WCAP-FTBE are general purpose DC film capacitors used for filtering, blocking, bypassing, or energy storing. Due to the metallized film technology, both series are characterized by a high volumetric efficiency and excellent self-healing properties.

The WCAP-FTBP metallized polypropylene DC capacitor (MKP) is characterized by an excellent voltage behavior over temperature, a capacitance tolerance of 5%, and frequency and humidity stability due to the specific characteristics of its metallized polypropylene film. Moreover, the products of this series are distinguished by an extraordinary insulation resistance, pulse rise time, and dissipation factor. Thus, they are useful for power supplies, monitor, electrical ballast, and other stable demanding applications. The capacitance range covers 33 nF to 6.8 μF and voltage is provided from 160 VDC to 630 VDC in pitch dimensions of 7.5 mm to 27.5 mm.

Due to the higher relative permittivity of the polyester film compared to polypropylene film, the WCAP-FTBE metallized polyester DC film capacitors (MKT) provide higher volumetric capacity with a capacitance tolerance of 10%. Like the WCAP-FTBP, the WCAP-FTBE features excellent self-healing properties due to the metallized film characteristics and provides increased humidity and inflammability protection based on the boxed style. The WCAP-FTBE is available with pitches from 7.5 mm to 37.5 mm, a capacitance range of 10 nF to 6.8 μF, and a voltage range of 100 VDC to 1000 VDC.
