Rigado's BMD-340-A-R is a highly flexible and ultra-low power Bluetooth 5 (BLE) and Thread (IEEE 802.15.4) module featuring Nordic’s nRF52840. The module integrates an Arm® Cortex®-M4F CPU, 2.4 GHz transceiver, built-in USB, and an integrated antenna allowing engineers faster time to market and reduced development cost with this complete RF solution. BMD-340 is designed for portable and extremely low power embedded systems designs and is footprint compatible with the BMD-300-A-R and BMD-301-A-R.

An evaluation kit is offered and provides a great starting point for Bluetooth 5 Low Energy and Thread projects, part number BMD-340-EVAL. The evaluation kit has a built-in USB programmer, allowing for easy programming and configuration. All of the I/O pins are accessible and also has Arduino form factor connectors that support plug-and-play accessory shields.
