Maxim’s MAX-ECG-MONITOR is an evaluation and development platform for monitoring clinical-grade ECG and heart-rate. It is available in a wet electrode patch for clinical applications and a chest strap for fitness applications. The platform features the MAX30003, an ultra-low-power, clinical-grade analog front end (AFE), which performs the ECG and heart-rate signal monitoring. It is part of the Movesense ecosystem.
Features
- Delivers high accuracy to allow for more physiological data extractions
- Built-in heart-rate detection with interrupt feature eliminates the need to run a heart-beat algorithm on a microcontroller, resulting in robust R-R detection in high motion environment at extremely low power
- Clinical-grade ECG AFE with high-resolution data converter, 15.5-bits effective resolution with 5 µVP-P noise
- Supports longer battery life versus competing solutions
- 85 µW at 1.1 V supply voltage
- Configurable interrupts allow the microcontroller to wake up only on every heartbeat, reducing overall system power
- Enables design flexibility
- Developers can run their own fitness or medical ECG-based applications and algorithms
- Runs an open API for developing unique in-device apps for various ECG-based use cases showing heart-rate signals at rest or during high motion activity
- High DC offset range of ±650 mV, 1.8 V typical, allows it to be used with wide variety of electrodes
