STCH03TR PWM Controller

STMicroelectronics' STCH03 is a PWM quasi-resonant controller specifically designed for low standby power supplies. The built-in HV startup cell with zero power consumption, the fully integrated blocks for primary side constant current output regulation, and the advanced power management make this IC a great choice for building a high efficiency and low standby consumption power supply with high overall and excellent dynamic performances.

  • Constant current output regulation (CC) with no optocoupler: reduce the number of external components (no need of CC/CV on secondary side or sense resistor) and higher efficiency due to no sense resistor power losses
  • 650 V embedded high voltage startup circuitry: allows controller to achieve low standby, below 10 mW
  • Quasi-resonant operation: high efficiency due to zero voltage switching operation
  • Automatic self-supply: possibility to work in constant current down to 0 V output
  • Feedforward compensation: output current regulation independent from mains variation
  • Intelligent frequency jitter: EMI reduction
