MAX17262/63 Single-/Multi-Cell Fuel Gauges

The Maxim Integrated MAX17262 is an ultra-low power fuel-gauge IC which implements the Maxim ModelGauge™ m5 algorithm. The IC monitors a single-cell battery pack and supports internal current sensing for up to 3.1 A pulse current. The IC provides the best performance for batteries with 100 mAhr to 6 Ahr capacity.

The MAX17263 is an ultra-low power fuel-gauge IC which implements the Maxim ModelGauge m5 algorithm. The IC monitors either a single cell battery pack or multiple-series cell battery pack with an external resistor divider. The IC drives 3 to 12 automatically-counted LEDs to indicate battery state-of-charge on a push-button press, or any other system status using I²C commands. The IC is available in a 3 mm x 3 mm 14-pin TDFN package.

The ModelGauge m5 EZ makes fuel-gauge implementation easy by eliminating battery characterization requirements and simplifying host software interaction. Its robust algorithm provides tolerance against battery diversity for most lithium batteries and applications.
