Pocket Pack Solder Wire

Chip Quik's pocket pack solder wire is available in five different alloys, including SMDSW (Sn63/Pb37), SMD2SW (Sn60/Pb40), SMD3SW (Sn62/Pb36/Ag2), SMDSWLF (Sn96.5/Ag3.0/Cu0.5), and SMD2SWLF (Sn99.3/Cu0.7). For the three leaded alloys, pocket packs are available in both 0.020" (0.5 mm) diameter wire and 0.031" (0.8 mm) diameter wire. For the lead-free alloys, pocket packs are available in three wire diameters: 0.015" (0.38 mm), 0.020" (0.5 mm), and 0.031" (0.8 mm).

These Chip Quik pocket packs all contain a continuous winding of solder wire that feeds through a hole in the end cap, keeping the wire contained and preventing any accidental unspooling or wastage. The precise amount of wire needed can be pulled through the hole in the end cap. When finished using the pocket pack, simply fold the protruding unused wire portion back over the edge of the tube to keep it readily accessible for the next job.

All twelve pocket packs use Chip Quik no-clean water-washable solder wire with a 2.2% synthetic flux core. After soldering, the clear, non-corrosive, non-conductive residue can be left on the circuit assembly indefinitely. Residues that do remain are water-washable with hot water at +60°C (+140°F) or isopropyl alcohol. All these pocket pack solder wires are halogen-free, RoHS II, and REACH compliant.
