The 24CW128x serial EEPROMs from Microchip provide 128 Kbits of memory that utilize an I2C (2-wire) serial interface. They are organized as 16,384 bytes of 8 bits each (16 KB). The 24CW series is optimized for consumer and industrial applications where reliable and dependable nonvolatile memory storage is essential.
The series allows up to eight devices to share a common I2C (2-wire) bus and is capable of operation across a broad voltage range of 1.6 V to 5.5 V. These memory products meet the challenges in camera designs by providing larger densities of 16 kB to 128 kB to store more parameters on smartphones. They feature a small footprint which is necessary for high integration and miniaturization, low power for a longer battery life, and software-write protection for security and traceabillity. The thin profile is suitable for lighter phones and IoT wearable cameras.
The 24CW series contains a pair of programmable configuration registers which allow certain device behaviors to be modified. These registers are the write protection register and the hardware address register.
