CS43198 Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs) with M

CS43198 Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs) with M

Cirrus Logic's CS43198 are low power audio DACs that provide a superior system-level audio performance without draining the battery life. These ICs minimize board space requirements while enabling performance and features to drive design differentiation.

The CS43198 devices feature a high impedance of 600 Ω, a 130 dBA dynamic range, a THD+N rating of -115 dB, and inter-channel isolation of greater than 110 dB. The proprietary digital-interpolation filters support five selectable digital filter responses to minimize pre-echos and ringing artifacts. The filtering options include low group delay with pseudo-linear phase and a fast or slow roll-off. A patented on-chip DirectStream Digital™ (DSD) processor supports up to DSD256 in direct-mode to preserve audio integrity by providing non-decimating volume control with soft ramp, and 50 kHz filtering as recommended by Scarlet Book. A seamless transition between the DSD and PCM playback paths result from volume matching of the analog output levels and channel mixing. These CS43198 are available in a 40-pin QFN or 42-ball WLCSP packages.

These devices are designated as MasterHIFI audio products for meeting Cirrus Logic’s highest standard in high-fidelity audio playback. These standards focus on specific thresholds that indicate true high-fidelity audio, including high dynamic range, low distortion, superior frequency response, high-sample rate, and high-bit depth.
