Phoenix Contact's QUINT CAP and QUINT BUFFER modules provide seconds of backup time to critical applications that cannot lose power for even the slightest disturbance starting at >20 ms. These battery alternatives use capacitors, which allow them to have a long service life and MTBF. This creates worry-free power, without the need for a UPS, for sensitive devices that could reboot with a short interruption of power. Applications include controllers requiring organized shutdowns and sensitive devices that cannot withstand minimal anomalies in power, such as safety PLCs or controllers, IPCs, HMIs, and others.
Both the QUINT CAP and QUINT BUFFER modules have a wide temperature range which makes them ideal for ambient temperature environments. They also both have status indicators and signal outputs which provide monitoring capabilities to prevent the loss of power. Both have a lockable USB interface for connection to higher-level controllers, making it convenient to shut down the PC.
The QUINT CAP line fed capacitor modules are ideal for cyclical failures lasting up to 30 seconds. These QUINT CAP modules contain high density, supercapacitors which provide a maintenance-free energy storage solution.
The QUINT BUFFER compact buffer modules bridge main failures lasting several seconds for all applications, even in extreme temperatures.
