The Optoelectronics group of Vishay Semiconductor offers the TFBR4650 transceiver, which supports data rates up to 115 kbit/s. The transceiver consists of a PIN photodiode, infrared emitter, and control IC in a single package. Vishay has taken note that several suppliers have exited the IrDA transceiver market. The TFBR4650 is being introduced to make it easier for customers using competing transceivers to migrate to Vishay. It has a pin-out compatible with the competing transceivers. The TFBR4650 is an excellent option for customers for whom it is not possible to use Vishay's TFBS4650.
