ADMV1010/ADMV1011/ADMV1012/ADMV1014 MMIC Wideband

ADI's ADMV1010, ADMV1011, ADMV1012, and ADMV1014 are compact, gallium arsenide (GaAs) design, monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC), I/Q downconverters and upconverters. The ADMV1010, ADMV1012, and ADMV1014 are optimized to work as a low noise, upper sideband [low side local oscillator (LO)], image reject downconverters. The ADMV1010 is designed to operate in the 12.6 GHz to 15.4 GHz frequency range.

The ADMV1011 provides 21 dB of conversion gain with 32 dBc of sideband rejection for the lower sideband and 23 dBc of sideband rejection for the upper sideband. The frequency range is from 17 GHz to 24 GHz. The ADMV1012 provides 15 dB of conversion gain with 25 dB of image rejection, and 2.5 dB noise figure. The ADMV1012 uses a radio frequency (RF) low noise amplifier (LNA) followed by an in-phase/quadrature (I/Q), double balanced mixer, where a driver amplifier drives the LO with an x2 multiplier. IF1 and IF2 mixer quadrature outputs are provided, and an external 90° hybrid is required to select the required sideband.

The ADMV1014 offers two modes of frequency translation. The device is capable of direct quadrature demodulation to baseband I/Q output signals, as well as image rejection downconversion to a complex intermediate frequency (IF) output carrier frequency. The baseband outputs can be dc-coupled, or, more typically, the I/Q outputs are ac-coupled with a sufficiently low high-pass corner frequency to ensure adequate demodulation accuracy. The ADMV1014 offers a flexible LO system, including a frequency quadruple option allowing up to a 41 GHz range of LO input frequencies to cover an RF input range as wide as 24 GHz to 44 GHz.

The ADMV1010, ADMV1011, ADMV1012, and ADMV1014 come in compact, thermally enhanced 32-terminal LCC/LGA packages. They operate over the -40°C to +85°C temperature range. These downconverters/upconverters are ideal for test, measurement, and radio applications.
