TCK401G High Input Driver IC and N-Channel SSM6K51

Toshiba’s TCK401G driver IC, an active-high N-channel MOSFET driver that boasts an input voltage of up to 28 V, is suitable for quick-charging and other applications requiring high current supply. The TCK401G driver IC includes various built-in functions such as overvoltage protection, inrush current reducing, and auto output discharge. The features are housed in an industry-leading small WCSP6E package, measuring 0.8 mm x 1.2 mm x 0.55 mm (typ).

This driver IC is best paired with the N-channel SSM6K513NU MOSFET which features the innovative U-MOSIX-H trench metal-oxide-semiconductor (MOS) process and has industry-leading-class low on-resistance (RDS(ON)) of 6.5 mΩ. This helps products to reduce heat from conduction loss by about 40% compared to Toshiba’s conventional products. This MOS is housed in the UDFN6B (SOT-1220) package, which measures at a small 2 mm x 2 mm x 0.75 mm.

A high-efficiency load switch for a power supply circuit can be created using the Toshiba TCK401G and SSM6K513NU components because they have a maximum voltage rating and RDS(ON) suitable for this type of application. The combination of these two products works well for mobile and consumer applications, such as wearables and accessories, especially those using USB Type-C™ as it makes it possible to build a load switch capable of 100 W class power supply circuit in a small space.
