Compact CeraPlas™ for Cold Plasma Technology

EPCOS' CeraPlas uniquely combines voltage transformation and plasma generation in a single component. The use of plasma as a key and interdisciplinary technology has become a modern technical standard in many industries and one that is experiencing dynamic expansion. Applications range from a few watts to more than 1000 watts and cover all industries. With the CeraPlas element – a piezo-based plasma generator in a single component – TDK has developed an innovative new plasma source (ozonizer, ionizer) that is especially suited for the use in low-power applications. CeraPlas technology enables small, handheld, cold plasma systems which can be operated from a battery.

CeraPlas uniquely combines voltage transformation and plasma generation in a single component. This technology is based on a PZT (lead zirconate titanate) ceramic material, which can be co-fired with the internal copper electrodes. The Piezobrush has been conceived to be an efficient handheld unit. At a maximum power consumption of 30 W, cold-active plasma with a temperature of -50°C is generated.
