NCP13992 Current Mode Resonant Controllers with In

ON Semiconductor’s NCP13992 are high-performance current mode controllers for half-bridge resonant converters. These controllers implement 600 V gate drivers, simplifying layouts and reducing external component count. The built-in brownout input function eases implementation of these controllers in all applications. In applications where a PFC front stage is needed, the NCP13992 features a dedicated output to drive the PFC controller. This feature, together with the dedicated quiet skip mode technique, further improves light load efficiency of the whole application. The NCP13992 provides a suite of protection features allowing safe operation in any application. These include overload protection, overcurrent protection to prevent hard switching cycles, brownout detection, open optocoupler detection, automatic dead-time adjust, overvoltage (OVP), and overtemperature (OTP) protections.
