It employs a Critical Conduction Mode (CrM) control technique to ensure near unity power factor across a wide range of input voltages and output power.
NCL30000 PFC Dimmable LED Driver
The ON Semiconductor NCL30000 PFC dimmable LED driver, recipientof the Best Application Award from EEPW, is a switch mode power supplycontroller intended for low to medium power single stage power factorcorrected LED drivers. The ON Semiconductor NCL30000 isdesigned to operate in critical conduction mode and is suitable forflyback and buck topologies. This ON Semiconductor PFC dimmable LEDdriver features a programmable on time limiter, zero current detectsense block, gate driver, and trans-conductance error amplifier as wellas PWM control circuitry and protection functions required to implement acritical conduction mode switch mode power supply.
