NXP Semiconductors Near Field Communication (NFC) Solutions offer wireless communication that is intuitive, low power, and inherently secure. As proximity technology, NFC only works when two devices are brought close together, so eavesdropping is almost impossible.NFC is a specialized subset of RF Identification (RFID). It operates at 13.56MHz and performs many of the same functions as RFID tags and contactless smartcards.NFC can use a Passive or Active communication scheme. In the Passive scheme, the initiating device provides power to the target device. This saves energy, and allows use of a target device without its own power source.
