PCAP04 Capacitance-to-Digital Converters
ams PCAP04 Capacitance-to-Digital Converters (CDCs) feature an integrated Digital Signal Processor (DSP) for on-chip data post-processing. These converters' front-end is based on PICOCAP principle which offers outstanding flexibility with respect to power consumption, resolution, and speed. The PCAP04 CDCs cover a wide capacitance input range from a few femtofarads up to several hundreds of nanofarads. The on-chip DSP allows implementing sensor algorithms like linearization and temperature compensation, with data output in a digital (SPI or IIC) or analog (PDM/PWM) way. The PCAP04 CDCs feature up to 6 capacitors in grounded connection, 3 capacitors in floating connection, and an integrated guard driver. Typical applications include position, pressure, force, proximity, acceleration, humidity, inclination, angle, and level sensors.
