***log Devices: The ADM709 contains a power supply monitor which generates a system reset during power-up, power-down and brownout conditions. When VCC falls below the reset threshold, RESET goes low and holds the µP in reset. On power-up the RESET output is held low for 140 ms after VCC rises above the threshold. The RESET output remains operational with VCC as low as 1 V. Three supply-voltage threshold levels are available suitable for +5 V, +3.3 V and for +3 V supply monitoring. The actual reset voltage threshold is found in the data sheet. The ADM709 is available in 8-pin DIP and SOIC packages.

***th Star Micro: The CAT706 provides reset and monitoring functions for the electronic systems. Each device monitors the system voltage and maintains a reset output until that voltage reaches the devices specified trip value and then maintains the reset output active condition until the devices internal timer allows the system power supply to stabilize. The CAT706 has a watchdog input which can be used to monitor a system signal and causes WDO to go low if the signal fails to change state prior to a timeout condition. The supervisory circuits provide a MR input which initiates a reset if pulled low. The CAT706 provides an active low RESET output. There is a secondary supply monitor included for power-fail warning (pin PFI).

STM705/706/708/813L Supervisors: STMicroelectronics STM705/706/708/813L Supervisors are self-contained devices which provide microprocessor supervisory functions. A precision voltage reference and comparator monitors the VCC input for an out-of-tolerance condition. When an invalid VCC condition occurs, the reset output (RST) is forced low (or high in the case of RST). These devices also offer a watchdog timer (except for STM707/708) as well as a power-fail comparator to provide the system with an early warning of impending power failure. These devices are available in a standard 8-pin SOIC package or a space-saving 8-pin TSSOP package. Typical applications include computers, controllers, intelligent instruments, critical μP power monitoring, terminals, base stations, medical equipment, and set-top boxes.
